PTC's response to the release of the Fare Review Mechanism Committee's Report
1. The Public Transport Council (PTC) is charged with the responsibilities to keep public transport fares affordable while ensuring financial viability of the public transport operators.
2. The PTC is pleased that the Fare Review Mechanism Committee (FRMC) has completed the task of reviewing the fare review mechanism and concession framework. The Council welcomes the recommendations made by the FRMC and thanks the Committee for the comprehensive study and report.
3. The PTC will examine the recommendations of the Committee carefully. Following the Government’s decision on the recommendations, the Council will then deliberate and implement the adopted measures to fulfil its mission of safeguarding the interests of the public, while ensuring the long term viability of the public transport operators.
