BONUS REBATES GIVEN
  • Responding to recommendations from the Committee on Singapore's Competitiveness, public transport operators gave a 5% bonus rebate on all ticket types for 1 year (till 31 December 1999), except Single Trip Tickets and corporate advertiser tickets, to reduce the cost of using public transport. This was done by adding 50 cents for every $10 value when an adult farecard was purchased or topped up. Concession tickets also received rebates of varying value.
